Zonnige plaatjes voor November ~ Some pretty pics for the long November nights

Daar de dagen korter worden, en de temperatuur daalt, is een zonnig bericht natuurlijk meer dan welkom.

Voor degenen die wat inspiratie op willen doen voor het maken van scenery, het bovenste plaatje is natuurlijk de Der AA Kerk in Groningen. In 1671 werd de kerk getroffen door een bliksminslag waardoor op prenten schilderijen over 1672 je de spits niet meer ziet. Had dus niets te maken met het beleg.

Het tweede plaatje is een oud huisje op het Waddeneiland Ameland, nu natuurlijk een uitspanning geworden.

Plaatje drie is het Armhuis op Vlieland, in deze vorm uit 1678. Is nu ook een restaurant..

Het laatste plaatje is een huis uit 1661 in de Oude Ebbbingestraat in Groningen, nu een koffiehuis. Tja.

As the days are getting shorter, we thought it wpuld be a good idea to share some sunny pics with you. We hope it might be a good inspiration for those who want to model some scenery, or just enjoy the great architecture from the Northern Netherlands.

The first picture is of the A-Church in the town of Groningen. The preent form dates from the 15th century, but the fundaments were laid way earlier and the chutch has been renovated due to wars and maintenance and the like several times, and if you look closer you can see various styles of brickwork.

The second picture is from a small brick house on the Waddenisle of Ameland, with the tyoical red dutch small bricks. The brick and mortar work is typical dutch, it's called "Holland or cross bond".

The third picture is also from the dutch Waddenisles, this time from Vlieland and it's the "Poor House", from around 1678 in it's present form. This time yellow bricks, also in "Holland bond".

The last house is now a coffeehouse, right in the centre of the town of Groningen, a typical Low Countries Renaissance house, in red bricks, and the "staired top".
