Oudste aandeel ter wereld ~ The oldest shareholders document






HOORN - Geschiedenisstudent Ruben Schalk (25) heeft recent in het Westfries Archief in Hoorn het oudste aandeel ter wereld gevonden. De unieke vondst van het VOC-aandeel werd donderdagmiddag in Enkhuizen bekend gemaakt. Het document is vanaf vrijdag in een speciale VOC-expositie in het Westfries Museum in Hoorn te zien.

The oldest shareholders document of the world, from the year 1602, a share in the Dutch East Indies Company VOC, has been found by student Ruben Schalk, in the archives of the Westfrisian Museum in Hoorn. At that time it was worth 150 guilders, but the present value will run into millions of euro's! The previous oldest share, from 1606 played a leading role in the movie Ocean's 12.
