Oudeschans museum II

Nog meer foto's van Oudeschans en omgeving..

~

Some more pics of the small fortress town of Oudeschans. We visited the town before, but then the museum was closed, and as today was a good day, we undertook te voyage again.

It's a small but very nice museum showing archeological artifacts of the 16th and 17th century. The garrison church is one of the buildings that was restored.

3 opmerkingen:

  1. How were those tiles used, I wonder. I saw many such tiles at the Rijksmeuseum display at Schipol while passing through the area.

  2. The tiles were used inside as a decoration on the walls or on the floor, mostly in or around the kitchen. You can still buy the tiles (copyright on the drawings seems to be expired), but the good quality ones are still expensive.
