De Hollandse, (Hollantse, Hollandsche etc) Mercurius was een krant uit Amsterdam uit de 17e eeuw. Op google books zijn er een aantal exemplaren te vinden. Het gat hier wel om een krant, dus de nieuwswaarde staat voorop, en als historische bron is de krant niet even betrouwbaar. Wel leuk is het volgende berichtje over het Hollandse (d.w.z. op repartitie dus betaald door de provincie Holland) Regiment Jorman:
Regiment Jorman werd later Birkenfeld, dan van Huffel, dan van Hinsheim, en in 1733 van Kinschot Sr.
The 'Hollandse Mercurius' was a newspaper from Amsterdam, and several copies of the period 1666-1678 can be found on google books. It's a paper, so a s a historical source not that reliable, but sometimes you find some very nice stuff, like the above newsreport on the entrabce of the Holland Regiment Jorman. (Holland means: paid by the province of Holland). The colours of the regiment are described as 'green and the other white', whith 'incentive slogans'. The officers wore green plumes on their hats, showing their spirit.
